A lovely memoir, Sue. Our lives are made up of so many complicated relationships, aren't they? Including our own weird relationship with our own selves. It is all learning.
My parents were great and supported me in anything I did. They didn't even get down on me when I decided there was no god and stopped going to church. So they were also my mentors, and my friends. We continued to travel together as adults, along with my sister and brother-in-law.
