What a wonderful day, Sue. Thank you for taking me along. I especially loved your photo of the five old men in the kitchen. I immediately thought of my old mother, Katy. She would have been in absolute HEAVEN to be able to join them. She was such a flirt - even at 90. And I appreciate your comment that we all have to learn how to hold a conversation again. What a perfect place to practice. ( I have recently taken on a " housemate", a stranger, and realize how out of practice I am relating in person....)

Either I am slipping into dodderdom or zombiehood, but I don't engage with anyone for conversation except the ladies of my knitting group. I'm great at shooting out a comical quip, but when I actually try to communicate in full sentences connected in a cogent story, I'm stumbling over syntax and searching for words. It's like I'll be going along and my computer hangs; that little circle coursing around and around.....

How long have you had your housemate? Has it been a while since you had one or is this just a new one taking someone's place? Maybe worth a story??? One of my knitters has had a roommate and complains about her every week. We finally called her out when she told us she hardly sees the woman because she's either working or back home in Elko on weekends. And the roommate either smokes her cigarettes or pot outside or in the garage. We said, "gee it sounds like a fairly good deal." Do you think having roommates is harder or easier or no difference between us and young people? I guess younger people know the arrangement is temporary where as elderly people wonder if it will be until death do us part.
