But I'm afraid you are right about both civil war and WWIII. Grateful I'm 75. I saw this coming with the the rise of human overpopulation when in my twenties and made the decision to not have children. I actually expected things to fall apart by the time i was 65, so Grateful I've had another 10 years. That expectation was why i retired at 56. I'm not sure how a civil war would work where i live. Would the far right stop me in the streets and demand to know if I support them? I just don't see open fighting in my town of 10,000 people in far SW New Mexico. I think the biggest problem here would be disruption of food deliveries. The biggest problem nationwide would be if they took over everyone’s bank accounts. Inflation of course would go through the roof.
In 2016, my neighborhood was festooned with Trump flags. Flying flags is big in Carson Valley, often with military flags and the occasional Gadsden flag under the Stars and Stripes. After 2020, however, Trump fervor has subsided substantially here. So, I don't know how a civil war would look here, but I've had some unnerving encounters lately. I try to stay home a lot and venture into town to places I deem safe. Then again, don't we seek out such places anyway throughout our lives? The corner bar? The yarn shop knitting circle? Whatever? IDK. With these two old men running, I'm voting for whoever their Veeps are going to be. I'm not thrilled with Kamala, but who knows who Trump's choice will be. Nikki Haley would attract my vote as well as Tulsi Gabbard, but they seem to be pariahs at the moment. Duck and cover and kiss your ass goodbye ... as they used to say.
