I agree. In fact, pink flamingos were probably invented to do just that ... make people laugh. They are so absurd. I love them. Maybe I'll get a few for my yard just for kicks. A sequel to this story is about a woman I worked with who did a flamingo May Day pole in the marsh near her house. Some people called it littering and others loved it so much, they started adding animals of their own. A kid's rocking horse, for example.

Man! I LOVE this idea. Right up my alley, Sue. If I woke up to a couple of flamingos in my yard, I would feel so honored to be chosen, I would donate half my month's grocery budget. Just now going on line to order my own single plastic flamingo. Might serve as a fine decoy for the flock.

When I was helping out at Paradise, Ca, after the fire, I saw a lot of pink flamingos in various stages of meltedness.
