These were events happening nearby that really hit home for me, especially the story of Naomi, who was kidnapped while awaiting the shuttle to take her to work. When a woman can't even sit in her car safely, that's reason for carrying a weapon. Apparently there are men out there who see a woman and feel that she needs to be raped. It boggles my mind.
