That is my highest aspiration--to make stuff that moves people. Thank you! Life continues here, and for now that's enough.

You write such lovely, inspiring things, Sue. I always look forward to seeing what you have for us. Thank you for including Mary Oliver's poem. I memorized it long ago - one of my favorites. "You do not have to be good..." "... meanwhile the world goes on."

At our age and skill at observing things around us, it's difficult NOT to have something to write about. Your stories fascinate and amuse me no end, especially since I can visualize the Santa Cruz you describe. A question: by East Santa Cruz, do you mean around the harbor and Live Oak? Somehow I get the idea you live in Aptos near the college. "East" is a wide range.

East Santa Cruz is the area from Seabright Avenue east including Morrissey Blvd and beyond, ending at Park Avenue. I myself live near the Harbor, 7th Avenue, with Live Oak bordering to the east. My brother and Sharon are the ones who live behind Cabrillo College in Porter Gulch ( at the Gopher Farm) which is Aptos. I hope you can come for a visit someday.

I expect we'll be coming down sooner or later for funerals. We're all getting to that age. It'll be nice to visit a positive person during such times.

So beautiful, Sue. I love seeing and hearing the geese fly over. I always look up and wish them well on their travels. xxx

They have such a long, arduous journey that it is no wonder some of them stay in some pleasant, safe place all year around.

I miss all the Canada geese and other waterfowl there wss to see in MN. Not much in the desert of SW NM.

Indeed, where the land is arid, birds fly over or around.
