Wow! Martin had the last word, the old goat! I wonder if his daughter-in-law was going to join him in his eternal flowerbed? Poor Larry. Great story, Sue!! Definitely one for for the season!!
A strong, well-woven story of both family strain and gardening. Martin was truly a bastard, an old weed that needed yanking. The ending here was surprising to me and seemed more like the opening paragraph to the next chapter rather than a finish to this one? Seems to call out for continuation. I used to like gardening. I don't anymore. I am too old for bending down or crawling on my knees! Now it is only a painful means to beautiful results. Thanks for this engrossing 10 minutes, Sue.
Thank you. It's that time of year I like to post scary/creepy stuff. Check out what I shares last October in the Archives: https://suecauhape.substack.com/archive
Dirty hands usually clean up pretty well. Dirty souls, not so much. Dirty hands protect against dirty souls!

Thank you, David. I had fun with this one.

Thank you, Sharron. It was an old story I dredged up from the bin and required some tweaks. Glad you enjoyed it.
Well that was a nightmare story worthy of October!
