Thank you, Rebecca. Sharron Bassano of Leaves inspired me to write these flash fiction items and I'm having a blast with them. Really fun exercise in being concise, giving just the right information and leaving a little room for readers to let their imaginations build the story.
Both of these were delightful. The perfect morning reading I seek -- something that makes me laugh, because I have been there, am there. Thank you Sue. Very hard to find a quiet place at the end of the pool where I live. We keep hoping they will set up a time for seniors only. But alas. Soon as the early adolescents come leaping in, I am out of there. I have never felt I was in someone's way, except maybe in Paris, where most conscious Americans feel a bit unwelcome. Sort of a generalized "in the way".
Even when my friend, Boots, and I did aerobics in the adult only pool, kids would come in. One girl was especially in our faces about us being in her way of doing laps. We were tucked in the friggin' corner, for pete's sake. Take your Olympic dreams elsewhere.
I loved both stories! Beautifully written.

The old couple is what it looks like inside my head when I am arguing with myself.
